Grandma Allen

Well, this weekend turned out to be much different than scheduled, but I guess that's what happens in life. Jeremy's Grandma Allen passed away this last week, and so we cancelled everything this weekend and drove the 13 hour trip to San Jose. Jeremy's Grandmother was 95 years old, and amazingly lived in her own home (with some help)until her very last week, when she was admitted into the hospital. It was really amazing to hear about her life, her early days were really a different world than the one we know now.

That's really a neat page. I love how they put a letter of hers on the program. It's so fascinating to learn about our ancestors.

I am sorry to hear about the passing of Jeremy's grandmother. My own great greatmother passed away a month ago, and I went to her funeral in Utah. She was 91, and like you, loved hearing stories from a long time ago. She also was on her own in her own home. I love seeing grandma's around town who remain spirited and tenacious into their old age.

Tell Jeremy sorry for his loss. How neat that you could go to the funeral--I love hearing those old stories from what seems like another time and place. Nice post.

I am sorry about your loss. Are you going to write her history? I love the frame you chose around her picture.
