Today Rachel's kindergarten teacher came for a personal, home visit. She came and devoted her entire attention to Rachel. Rachel read some of her favorite books to her, and proudly showed Mrs. Kaufman her room, with all it's decorations (drawings and pictues and sticker collections). Her teacher was impressed with Rachel's reading skills, and she told her that she would let her check out some 1st grader books from the class library. We were all impressed by a busy teacher who was willing to come and spend her personal time to visit with her students. Teaching a morning and afternoon class, she must have over 40 students. Public schools aren't all bad. They are not filled with teachers who don't care. Rachel's teacher cares. :)
